Nursing PICO Project

Nursing students on may have questions on their "PICO" Project.
Here is a website that explains PICO, in case you need it:

http://ebling.library.wisc.edu/portals/ebhc/pico.cfm

P = Patient and Problem

I = Intervention

C = Comparison

O = Outcome

The students have to find journal articles to formulate and support their PICO question.

Can't Save to Flash Drive

Problem: Users try to save a document or PDF to their flash drive, and when they try to select the location from the "Save In" drop down menu, the menu keeps rolling up and disappearing, and you cannot select the Flash Drive.

It is likely the student is using a flash drive with a U3 interface, that asks you to reboot and install U3 software on the computer. Since you can't install anything on the public computers, you may see strange behavior, such as the problem described above.

Solution: Select the My Documents folder, and save the copy there. Then, go to the My Computer, find the My documents folder, and Move or Copy the saved document to the Flash Drive location.

AccessID & Password

After four registration periods beyond the last semester enrolled, which works out to three semesters (plus the very beginning of the fourth), e-mail access is de-provisioned and the students are classified as "Unregistered" in the electronic directory. That is the point at which students lose access to e-mail, Blackboard, and things like the restricted databases. Students keep access to Pipeline in order to retrieve transcripts, register for classes again, etc.
This applies to all students.

This information was verified on June 26, 2015.

Change EndNote Settings to use MS Office 07 Bibliography Utility

If students have done a bibliography in their paper using the Microsoft Word bibliography utility, their citations page will not show up in the WSU Public Computers unless you change the EndNote settings. Here's how to do that:

Close the MS Word program and the EndNote program, if they are open.

From START-->All Programs-->EndNote
Select Configure EndNote

Leave Configure EndNote Components For Me selected and click NEXT
Deselect Set EndNote as Default Reference Manager for Word 2007 and click NEXT
Click FINISH

Open Word. Their Bibliography created in Word should now be in their paper. You will now see the Citations & Bibliography section on the References ribbon.
